Join the Chorus

Are you ready to add your voice to the Fort Smith Chorale? We welcome singers from across the community to audition and join us in creating powerful, inspiring music together.

When and Where

Auditions are held twice a year. Fall auditions are held on the 3rd Monday of August, and spring auditions are held the 2nd Monday of January. Both are from 7-9 PM at Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

What to Expect

Auditioners must be out of high school to apply. Each audition includes:

Prepared Solo
Bring a solo song of your choice (an accompanist will be provided).

Sightreading
Perform your voice part from a 4-part hymn.

Tonal Memory
Repeat 2 tonal memory patterns.

Vocalization
A short vocal range and tone assessment.

Once you are accepted as a member of the Fort Smith Chorale, no further auditions are required. With more than 200 singers on our roll, 50–100 members typically participate in each concert.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM
at Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
